Svenska Kraftnät: Accessibility study, consultation and environmental impact assessment.

A new 400 kV overhead line along the Ekhyddan - Nybro - Hemsjö section is planned to reduce the risk of power outages in the region. The line will be connected to an existing interconnector from Nybro to Lithuania, relieving and reinforcing the transmission network in the region. The line is included in the EU's list of projects of common interest, a so-called PCI project (Project of Common Interest).

Ecogain receives the assignment from Svenska Kraftnät, which includes inventories along the nine miles and to drive the permit project forward with the preparation of consultation documents, background studies and environmental impact assessment.

In parallel with the preparation of the environmental impact assessment, N2000 areas and nature reserves are managed with field visits and suitable compensation areas are identified. The action plan that is compiled becomes an important document in the procurement process and during construction to ensure that the measures specified in the EIA are implemented.

To simplify the contracting process, Ecogain also prepares a storymap, with targeted simple language reinforced by clear maps and images.

After numerous consultations with several study corridors, the application is submitted and in September 2021 the government announces that the route has been granted a concession.
