Lina Molin becomes Ecogain's new expert on climate change adaptation and biodiversity

Ecogain has recruited Lina Molin, climate adaptation expert, to our team in Östersund. With a solid background as an environmental consultant with expertise in climate change adaptation, especially from the public sector, Lina will be a significant asset for Ecogain's work in biodiversity and climate adaptation.

- The risks associated with climate change are becoming increasingly apparent. Both businesses and the public sector need to start working quickly to identify these risks - and take action. Biodiversity plays a crucial role in this work. Therefore, Lina's expertise is an invaluable resource for Ecogain and our customers," says Katarina Walter, CEO of Ecogain.

The growing interest in climate change adaptation and biodiversity reflects increased awareness. Companies and organizations increasingly recognize the importance of integrating biodiversity strategies into their operations to address the challenges and risks posed by climate change. Lina Molin mentions as an example that a warmer average temperature means, among other things, more heat peaks and more intense precipitation patterns, both in terms of duration and amount.

- The consequences of this are many and can in some cases include property damage, production stoppages, insurance problems and impacts on life and health. "Combining climate risk analysis with measures to increase biodiversity and resilience is crucial if we want to create a sustainable society in the future," says Lina Molin.

What do you see as the most important thing for businesses to focus on in 2024?

- The highest priority is to start an inventory of potential climate-related risks. The next step is to carry out an impact analysis that can show the long-term and short-term consequences of the risks. It is important not only to look at how climate change in Sweden affects the organization's operations, but also to look outwards to the world and see how climate change in other countries affects operations.

With Lina Molin's expertise, Ecogain looks forward to further strengthening its offering and helping customers in their quest for resilience and sustainability.
